Peter Meehan in todays NY Times accurately scorches the new BLT Burger on 6th Avenue. But while his table were served some overly 'raw' hamburgers, some of those brought to our table were truly scorched.
The burgers had that thin, charred, seared crunch bit of crust which is so desirable, but not when it's the whole burger. Hockey Pucks. Astoundingly awful service.
If you need a trendy burger, walk up to Danny Meyers's Shake Shack in Madison Square Park - it's worth it. For you basic pub kind of burger, it's still The Corner Bistro.
