From today's Haaretz
"We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq," Ma'ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying.
The speaker was Bibi Netanyahu, the former prime minister for whom Feith, Perle and Wurmser wrote the report "A Clean Break", that advocated the toppling of Saddam Hussein in June of 1996.
Also from Haaretz
Israel Air Force strikes in the central Gaza Strip Wednesday afternoon killed at least 15 Palestinians, among them at least five children, and wounded at least 10 people.
One who was killed was a cameraman who worked for Reuters, with the name of Shana:
Other cameramen who rushed to the scene said they saw the Reuters jeep on fire, and Shana's body lying next to the jeep, alongside other casualties. They said Shana's jeep was marked as press and that the cameraman was wearing an identifying flak jacket.
Israel: Grateful for the collapse of the World Trade Center, Casual about the lives of Palestinian civilians. This is not the country its founders hoped for.
Read Netanyahu's "Fighting Terrorism" if you are interested in finding out a tad bit about the man. It would take a little effort though and you may be better off repeating second and third hand information as it would shock misperceptions like the ones you have articulated here. I ask you again to point me in the direction of the posts you have written about the acts of medieval barbarism committed by the folks you support in this scuffle. Gaza is a dangerous place for certain, what with the hundreds and hundreds of flying garbage cans packed with nails and explosives flying from Gaza into Israeli towns. If Gazan men were not such cowardly bastards they would launch their garbage cans from areas of complete isolation rather than their own neighborhoods which brings down Israeli retaliation. You are no doubt aware that the Israelis are able to pin point (U S technology) the precise launch points of rockets and artillery and return fire on the exact location. That is the reason that Iraqi artillerymen did not fire on US positions in either Gulf war.
I think it would not be a bad idea to bulldoze Gaza into the Mediterranean and cover it with a few feet of top soil and sand. We could all start over with a nice tropical resort and charge folks to go there. Perhaps the rest of Arabia might take back there refugees who were packed on buses and sent off to win Israel though world opinion. Until then, Gaza is going to continue to be a dangerous place as it is filled with barbaric terrorists who seek refuge amongst their innocents.
And, I guess you haven't really thought through what Arabs had on their minds when they attacked Israel in 1956 (and were on the verge of in 67) considering what a map of the Middle East looked like at that time. I know that Arab attacks on Israel do not fit the current 'model', but confronting what has really happened is not always going to feel comfortable nor fit the reality one may have concocted.

Thanks, but I did read excerpts of his novel when it first came out. Hysteria and hyperbole. A call for constant war is Bibi's road to personal riches.
You once told me that you had some personal knowledge of John Kerry's behavior in Viet Nam, and I believed you. I have knowledge of Bibi, and he is bad news.
Wasn't 1956 the year that Israel started mucking around with water?
Are am I wrong about that?
Barbecue season must be fast approaching.

Bibi is a far greater existential threat to Israel than Ahmadinejad could ever dream of being.
