The L.A. Times notes that Rudi was slammed twice yesterday. A group of firefighters and family members who had lost someone on 9/11 went to New Hampshire and told an audience of Rudi's failures in that catastrophe. The second slam was the endorsement McCain received from Governor Tom Kean, head of the 9/11 commission.
People reacted strongly to finally hearing the truth about 9/11:
The people in the audience were shocked at what they heard," said Jim Riches, a New York Fire Department deputy chief and a union official.
Giuliani's campaign's response was predictably dishonest but full of chutzpah, like the Rudestir himself:
It's unconscionable that a front group for the highly partisan IAFF is now turning the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 into a political football."
Of course it was the totally partisan Giuliani who turned it into a political football first. And they have the nerve to call the action of Jim Riches, whose son was killed on 9/11, "unconscionable" when he tries to set the record straight.
Giuliani's campaign response to the Kean endorsement was also wildly inappropriate. They noted that Governor Kean's son endorsed Rudi. Whether Rudi's own son endorses Rudi is still a matter of some speculation.
hilarious! I don't even think Rudy's son would endorse him. I can't stand him.
