Andrew Sullivan is wrong more often than not -but not today. His level of shamed disgust is just right when he commented on the announcement by K-Lo of The Corner that she and:
"Kate O'Beirne ...just got back from a meeting with the president in the Roosevelt Room of the White House for a small group of conservative journalists."
It is astounding that anyone would confuse K-Lo with a journalist, and even more so for the "leader of the free world" to do so. In her meeting, the president expressed his reaction to the MoveOn ad in the Times about Gen Petraeus.
"I was incredulous at first and then became mad.” ... The president added that the ad “was uncalled for...and so was the silence” from the Democrats on the Hill."
Please let's leave this stupidity alone. No Democrat need defend nor condemn MoveOn. We cannot continue to let wing-nuts determine the agenda. If you read my post yesterday, you that watching leftward bloggers criticize Kerry's response to the taser incident turned my stomach. The proper response upon hearing the name Petraeus is along the lines of "the leader of Bush's war in Iraq who cannot confirm that the war makes us safer."
And then you could go on to quote the Conservative Andrew Sullivan:
Previous war-presidents have gathered opponents into their cabinets, reached out to estranged former allies, engaged in aggressive diplomacy to maximize effectiveness and rallied the whole country for the fight. What does this one do? Gets a bunch of right-wing "journalists" into the White House to spread some partisan talking points. What a pathetic excuse for a president. What a fucking disgrace this man and his journalistic lackeys are.

UPDATE:
Could there be a better definition of a Lame Duck than spending time with Kathryn Jean Lopez and Katie O'Beirne in the Roosevelt Room. Fiddling while Rome burned was at least creative. Took some talent.
Andrew Sullivan explains his use of profanity in a most useful way.(thanks again to memeorandum)
Look like this is working, what do you think? http://bit.ly/zlink716
