Steroid Stupid

As I am still traveling, I am unable to stay on top of things as I would wish. In trying to find out more about what seemed to be the fraudulent accusation of fraud hurled at photographers at Qana, I sadly looked for some light at Protein Wisdom. As always, Goldstein provided only darkness.

While many on the right constantly condemn elitism, Goldstein writes in a way that would be called elitist, if only it were intelligible:

Islamist religion is clearly pre-enlightenment.  But their tactics for bringing about a return to the dark ages are quite pointedly post-Enlightenment, fueled by the continental “lessons” of the linguistic turn, which described the man-made nature of our epistemology—and which was then (mistakenly, in my opinion) construed to justify cultural relativism, a philosophical move that gave rise to the will to power as a dangerous governing force in modern day social and political organization.

Yes, he actually wrote this intentionally incomprehensible sentence.  Goldstein's tired rhythm of one short sentence, followed by one run-on,  consisting of clause upon clause upon clause,  is the high-school sophomore writer's definition of "cool."

The comments made in response to such a sentence are pricelessly pretentious as well:

And unfortunately, a late development in our civilization And unfortunately, a late development in our civilization is the rise of great numbers of citizens with pretty much no will to break, no cognitive ability to confront, and appetite for little but servility to an always beneficent Big Brother.

I wonder how they’ll dig living under the Caliphatemongers.  I wouldn’t know, because speech will be repressed, and I’ll likely be dead.

This was from "Rick", who I think is capable of coherence, but who is not encouraged to do so at Mr Goldstein's. In fact the first sentence is imitative of a Goldstein -  clauses which are not parallel, but that try to disguise themselves as such, and a pretentious analysis of the world utterly bereft of fact.

(Ironically, my post is written on the road, and my limitations (physical) mean that I cannot properly check for spelling or grammatical error - I imagine Goldstein could have a field day with this post.)

Whenever you come across a phrase such as "fueled by the continental 'lessons' of the linguistic turn," please know that you are in the clutches of a Goldstein, and no knowledge can come of it.

Still going, many thanks - and I have no clue what "Tut mir Hanno'eh" means - does it have anything to do with fueling continental lessons of linguistic turns? It's not part of being independent of foreign sources of fuel is it? You know, that idea that W. finally decided in his 6th year was so important -
