The Head of NATO's International Secuirty Force, a Brit named Lieutenant General David Richards, characterized the situation in Afghanistan as "close to anarchy." He noted that NATO forces there " are short of equipment, notably aircraft, but also if medical evacuation systems and life-saving equipment."
Bloggers like USSNeverdock immediately accused the Guardian, whose article I quoted as distorting the facts. Again the situation is fine, its the media that's the problem.
As soon as I hear that the Frist and the Hastaerdt families are going to vacation in Afghanistan, I'll believe it. When Richard Perle sells his house in the South of France and buys in southern Afghanistan, I'll believe. When high level administration officials make announced visits to Iraq, outside the Green Zone, I'll believe it.
