In a refreshing change from shooting friends in the face, Cheney shoots self in foot.
Appearing on Face the Nation to endure the harsh, demanding softballs of Bob Schieffer, Dick Cheney displayed the administration's special method of diplomacy; one that has so enchanted allies around the world.
Although he denied that fatigue is a problem in the White House, our V.P. for Insults simply could not be bothered to use four syllables when one would suffice. Thus he refrained from the arduous task of actually describing the people of Pakistan as "Pakistanis", and instead chose to claim that he works well with "the Paks."
Dick Cheney: The Slur of a Nation.
You are evidently unaware, Skippy, that "Pakistanis" refer to themselves as Paks. Pakistan, you'll recall from high school, takes it's name from Pashtun, Afghan and Kashmir. Spellings will vary depending on whether you would use your own translations or trust someone else's. Istan means roughly "land of the". That which you refer to as slur, is preferred by most of those folks you cannot see from midtown.
No correction required. You would really be rewarded by getting out there and actually seeing that which you claim to fall within your sphere of expertise.

This bustard welcomes Rick back to the site. Assuming that ignorance is in fact bliss, Rick clearly enjoyed his time away from the bustardblog.
He appears to be unaware that certain words are seen as slurs when used by people outside the group, but not when used by insiders. Rarely, an outsider becomes such close friends to members of the group that it is permissable for him to use the "slur." If Rick were to think of words used to describe, and words used to slur, African-Americans, he could possibly understand this. "Pak", which is generally seen as a U.S. version of the British "Paki," is such a word. The "Pakibashing" that occurred in Britain was violent and bloody. Evidence that Cheney is not particularly close or friendly with any Pakistani is the absence of buckshot wounds on their face.
In the world of Diplomacy,
"Pakistani" is correct - "Pak" is offensive.

Do not get your girls wear a plain white bridesmaid dress on stage in order to avoid distracting.
