Althouse - Fairly reasonable, female law professor from University of Wisconsin. American Digest - Awful. Shockingly, depressingly awful. Some of the most awful, pretentious writing one could imagine. If one could apply the phrase "grossy overwritten" to any site, this would be IT. In describing the part of the Northwest where he spends time, he describes his joy at finding that "this is a heavily armed part of the nation, and, as a result, it is a very civil one as well." "Yet another reason" for the civility is that the town is very, very white; so white that even the Native Americans here are, well, sort of pale." Not one commenter at this site objected. Comments? Yes.

Andrew Sullivan - Exceptionally sanctimonious, Catholic gay conservative. All of these 'fascinating contradictions' don't in fact make his pronouncements more worthy, merely more easily to hype. One Good Turn - Musings of a right wing Southern Professor - not always in agreement with "W" Comments? Yes

One Hand Clapping - Upon retiring early from a career in the military, the author became a minister. Has a son who is about to go to Iraq. Let's be especially nice. Donald Sensing's site. Comments? Yes.

Opinion Times - Opinions and News from a Christian Conservative. You already know the rest. Comments? Yes.

Outside The Beltway - Also outside mainstream America, but not way out. Comments? Yes.

Pardon My English - Claims to be "Conservative News and Opinion." Fairly active, occassionally intelligent if wrong-headed comments. We should be there, even if their idea of a fact is that all Muslims want Jihad, and are the "most devout killers in the world." Comments? Yes.

Patrick Ruffini - He was the webmaster for the B**h/Cheyney 2004 campaign, so is very deserving of blame. This site is mostly focussed on blogs. Comments? Yes.

Patriot-Paradox - Aka: NickQueen.com Very "Christian" and a Sunday School Teacher. But at times his level of anger and hate make you think he might need a refresher courseon the New Testament. Comments? Yes.

Patterico's Pontifications - L.A. Prosecutor. Right-wing, but not so unbalanced that he couldn't fly. A lot of focus on the L.A. Times. Comments? Yes.

PBS Watch - Actually there's not much about PBS here - he hates it so much he rarely can bare to watch it. Irregular Poster. Proudly admits to being an ideological right-wing extremist. Comments? Yes.

Pejmanesque - Iranian Jewish American: Conservative, but intelligent and informed. Comments? Yes.

Pennywit - A few different bloggers at a few different levels of rationality with some forums. "PWit" and "Impolitic" are not completely irrational. "Bat 1" on the other hand...Comments? Yes.

Poliblogger - Relatively logical and informed; the thoughts of St. Stephen L Taylor. Worth a visit. Comments? Yes.

Polipundit - Nasty - one commenter called the Democrats the "Dead Babies Party" - no one disagreed. Five writers spewing in this one spot. On 9/19 Lorie Byrd (also of Byrd Droppings) summed it up by calling Clinton: "No Class Slime." Comments? Yes.

Political Wire - This a fairly balanced link site with a discussion forum. Our presence is suggested. Comments? Yes.

Politics 1 - A fairly middle of the road political digest. A lot of commenting goes on here, so one of us should be on here all the time. Comments? Yes.

Poor and Stupid - The reasonable Brad DeLong considers the author of this blog, Donald Luskin, the stupidest man alive. He's right, but neglected to mention how nasty this guy is as well. Consistency is not one of his problems - a part of his extended title complains about "Big Business", but he thoroughly condemns the NY Times when it criticizes business. Currently reading an attack book on Al Franken, and listening to the musical "The Music Man" Comments? No.

Powerline - The first time that a major U.S. weekly news magazine gave an award to an Assrocket and company. Prize-winningly awful. He's seen "little hard evidence" that FEMA "performed poorly in the current crisis." On 9/19 Pandagon put it best: they're "the dumbest sacks in the history of dumb sackdom." Comments? No.

Professor Bainbridge - A proudly pompous professor and ass at UCLA Comments? No.

Protein Wisdom - Formerly called celluloid wisdom. Rightward attempts at humor, and some are actually quite smart. Author has a tendency towards pomposity, but is quite bright. Comments? Yes.

Publius Pundit - For some reason particularly depressing. Focussed on Int'l affairs: It's "about democratic revolutions in unfree countries that suffer from tyranny." At first, you think that there are signs of intelligence. He thinks Pat Robertson's assasination comments rediculous. Then he tries to convince his girlfriend to put on her skimpiest bikini and jump up and down on the trampoline-"performing her womanly duties." Comments? Yes.

Rantburg - Lots and lots of comments here - lots of them really ugly. A large links and news service. It's quite active and we have to make our presence known (with civility) Comments? Yes.

Real Clear Politics - A right wing clipping service. Guys like Fred Barnes and Paul Gigot like it a lot. Has video clips from last Hannity & Colmes (& Similar), if you really need it. Comments? No.

Red State Org - Actually a 527, a political commitee. Seems to be a feeble right wing attempt at a "Daily Kos" Traditional conservatives are not Republicans - they're not neo enough. Claims he'll be civil to those who see things from a more liberal perspective. Bustard says GO. Comments? Yes.

Red State Rant - The only truths at this site are contained in the title. Entirely predictable. Comments? Yes.

Rhymes With Right - A Right Wing Texan - like others from that State, he believes in neither truth nor consequences. Comments? Yes.

Right March - Tries to galvanize the wingnuts with slogans such as "Support our troops against Cindy Sheehan." Appears to be a feeble knock off of Move-On. Don't Bother. Comments? No.

Right Wing News - Conservative news and Articles. There are lots of comments and action here - we have to be here too. (Aka. conservative grapevine) Comments? Yes.

Right Wing Nut House - Lengthy posts - not always doctrinaire. Says of the Democrats: "Preventing the U.S. from winning in Iraq is the number one political goal of the party...Wielding power for power's sake is the reason for its existence." After going on like this at length, great length, he wants Democrats to join him. Uh??? Comments? Yes.

Right Wing Sparkle - Her "heroes are Dad, Grandma, and Ronald Reagan." She did immediately volunteer at the Astrodome. But finds it really remarkable that those who were in the Superdome did not like gang violence and shooting. Was amazed that they "were angry at people who went to bathroom in public places." All that sparkles is not even zirconium. Comments? Yes.

R. Lee Ermey - "Born an American. Lives as an American. Will die an American" Former actor and gunnery sergeant has a forum. Worth a try. Comments? Yes.

Roger L. Simon - Mystery writer from the right. The real mystery is why such an intelligent fellow is so far from the left. Comments? Yes.

Samizdata - Amazingly smug and pretentious group effort that is "developping the social individualist meta-context for the future." Comments? No.

Save the GOP - Five chickenhawks who would like to see Representative Tancredo (Bomb Mecca) as the next President. Giulani is RINO. Orrin Hatch is not conservative - and they support his opponent in the next primary. Comments? Yes.

Scrappleface - Right wing humor with lots of "witty" comments: Rep Barney Fag of Taxachussetts, etc etc etc. Does show some wit sometimes. Says that in the new agreement with North Korea we agreee to: "continue to prop up Kim Jong-Il's decadent, oppressive dictatorship in exchange for his commitment to remain in power." Comments? Yes.

Sean Gleeson - Oklahoma based conservative Catholic father of several. He is smart and he is articulate. He asked to be put on this list - which is a bit surprising. As a card carrying member of the ACLU, an Anti-War demonstrator and resident of New York city who supports gay marriage; I can find nothing with which I disagree. OK Meet N.Y.! It's a small world after all. Comments? Yes.

Six Meat Buffet - Really Odd Group. New Home for the Cranky Neocon, whose son, sadly, has diabetes - yet does this humble him or cause a pro-U.S. rant? You know the answer. He forgets that the "DNA" (a sort of important part of recombinant DNA - which is essential to his son's insulin), was discovered at Cambridge University (England=Socialized Medicine=Bad) or the discovery of insulin itself (Canada=Socialized Medicine=Bad) I could go on, but suffice it to say that none of the medical advances for which is he is so grateful come from a Red State. Another author at 6Meat is kindly concerned about a fellow blogger whose child is very sick. He seems to know that our health care system stinks, because he asks us to send her "nickels and dimes" via PayPal. They also think injuries incurred on Black Friday are really funny - they would have thought the deaths at the Roman Coliseum some centuries ago hilarious. Comments? Yes.

Smoke on the Water - Gun Obsessed, Irregular Blogger. Rugged individualist obsessed by the need for air conditioning for his cats in hurricane Rita. Does allow for discussion, but not a really active site. Comments? Yes.
