In a stunningly stupid tribute to Bill Buckley, William Kristol wrote a sentence as bad as any I have ever read:
"In watching over Buckley's 82 years on this terrestrial orb, surely the morning stars sang together for joy."
"Terrestrial orb"?
And those singing "morning stars"?
Clearly, Kristol plagiarized a press release from the Office of the Tsarina, mourning the death of Catherine the Great.
Kristol's article is surrounded by Goldberg's smiley face of Hitler, and speaks about how serious historians will write of Buckley?
By the way, Buckley on Iraq:
"One can't doubt that the American objective in Iraq has failed."
One can't help but hope that Kristol finds another terrestrial orb upon which to live, and so to harm. He's done enough damage here.
