You may not realize this, but I loathe Camille Paglia. Even more than Hewitt or Hitchens, Paglia is incendiary - as long as she can light a fire that shines its light back on her, she doesn't care what she burns..
In her piece over at Salon, she shamelessly reveals her despicable persona. Her dissection of Senator Clinton is pathological. She states that during Clinton's first run for Senate her "security people (including her government supplied Secret Service detail) ...ensure that no protesters would ever come within camera range." A bald faced lie. Clinton faced protesters at every single stop. (examples here, here, and here) Instead of examining the phenomenal lead over Giuliani that Clinton enjoys in New York, Paglia elects to smear.
In discussing a video clip of a recent appearance by Clinton, Camille Paglia writes that
A plus is a glimpse of Hillary's top aide, the elegant Huma Abedin, wielding one of her formidable designer handbags
Abedin is of course the supposed lesbian lover of Senator Clinton, according to many on the right. She is not now, nor has she ever been "Hillary's top aide." Paglia is nothing if not sleazy.

"Aside from the stylish Huma, there's definitely something weird and cultish in the sycophantish cathexis onto Hillary of the many nerds, geeks and vengeful viragos who run her campaign -- sometimes to her detriment, as with the recent ham-handed playing of the clichéd gender card. I suspect the latter dumb move, which has backfired badly, came from Ann Lewis (Barney Frank's sister)
She offers no evidence for her 'suspicion.' It is simply an attempt to smear Ann Lewis, and an opportunity to link to an appearance by Paglia on CNN's crossfire as well as an essay in one of her collections. Norman Mailer critiqued Madonna? He was just a "sub" for Paglia. Hordes from Hollywood wanted her to make a movie with Madonna - but Madonna was too intimidated by her.
Paglia is always the star of her own melodrama. It isn't worth watching.
P.S. Is it beyond Ms. Camille to understand "cathexis?" Clearly.
